About

Barbara John

Barbara John is an international voice and speech coach. She has worked in the area of voice and communication skills for the past twenty years, and during this time she has helped thousands of individuals achieve greater success in their personal and professional lives through successful communication. Her expertise in drama, voice training and public speaking has made her well respected as a professional presenter and trainer both in Australia and overseas.

In 1998, Barbara was invited by the Australian Voice Association to conduct Master classes on 'Enhancing the Public Speaking Voice' at the Fourth International Voice Symposium of the Australian Voice Association in Melbourne. It was an opportunity for an international audience to observe the expertise of the voice coach working with a participant in achieving significant vocal improvement over a period of three days.

In 2000, Barbara was engaged by GE Capital Consumer Finance to conduct Voice and Speech coaching at their major Call Centre in New Delhi. The training was specifically designed to ensure that GE's English-speaking customers and clients would be able to easily understand their front-line Associates. It encompassed Voice Management and exercises to master accurate English Pronunciation. As a direct result of the training, the Associates became more confident, persuasive and understandable on the telephone. Levels of customer and employee satisfaction consequently improved.

Barbara holds a Bachelor of Letters degree (with Honours) from the University of Melbourne, and a Fellowship from Trinity College London, in the teaching of Speech and Drama. She also holds Licentiate in the Teaching of English as a Second Language from Trinity College, London.

Barbara is a member of the National Speakers Association of Australia.
